Poetry, Prose, Reviews and Articles
We accept all of the following in French and English. For all submissions, include a short biographical note.
Olah-La is a contemporary online publication interested in writing that pushes the limit, speaks simply and truthfully, comes from an authentic place and, most importantly, either the author or the writing itself should have some connection to Israel.

Olah-la does not currently pay contributors, though we hope to one day.

All writing must be sent in the body of the e-mail, 12 font, Ariel, Cambria, Times New Roman, or any other normal looking font. 

Poetry:

Max 3 poems. Either poem or author must be connected to Israel somehow. Not necessary to be Jewish. PLEASE WRITE olah-poetry in the subject line. 

Reviews:
looking for reviews of Israeli artists/ writers or artists with some connection to Israel. Acceptable: Music, literature, art, photography, suggest something. PLEASE WRITE olah-review in the subject line.

Prose:

Any style, fiction or non-fiction, as long as it is a) inspired but not wishy washy B) not more than 2500 words C) contemporary. PLEASE WRITE olah-prose in the subject line.

Articles:

About anything Israel has to be proud of, with major interest in the development of new technology (in the field of medicine, telecommunications, etc). Also, articles on political developments. PLEASE WRITE olah-article in the subject line.


Tip: for poetry and prose, and other works of art, think “Waltz With Bashir” turned into a poem or story; relevant, tough, romantic, grounded, murky, explorative,doesn’t claim to have the answers, personal, music and tones lend it a completely contemporary style. 

Volunteer Programs and Charities

Looking for reviews of volunteer programs or charities in Israel, or your personal experiences on an Israel program, including volunteering, interning, or study. MUST WRITE olah-program (in the place of program, you can also write intern, volunteer or study) in the subject line.
